This biotechnology training workshop is organized jointly by the ILSI International Food Biotechnology Committee, ILSI Southeast Asia, ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations), and AVA (Agri-food Veterinary Authority). Additional collaborators include Health Canada, ANZFA (Australia-New Zealand Food Authority), and ILSI Europe. The workshop will take place July 18-20, 2001, in Singapore. Its focus is the safety and risk assessment of MG foods and its primary audience is regulatory decision makers. Follow-up workshops are planned for 2002 and 2003.
