In collaboration with the Ministry of Health (MOH), Singapore, the branch held a National Workshop on Food-Based Dietary Guidelines (FBDG) to assist with the review and development of Singapore's FBDG. Dr. Suzanne Harris of ILSI's Human Nutrition Institute provided an overview for the science-based approach to the FBDG review process and shared the process, rationale and issues behind the proposed US Dietary Guidelines. The new Singapore FBDG will be finalized by the Year 2002.
