The National FBDG Workshop jointly organized by the MOH, Indonesia, the Indonesian Association of Nutritionists, and ILSI SEA held a two-day meeting in Jakarta to assist with the review and development of the Indonesian FBDG. Dr. Barbara Schneeman of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) was invited to speak about the science-based approach for the development of national FBDG as recommended by the 1996 Cyprus expert consultation and by the experience of other countries- including the Philippines and Thailand. The revised Indonesian guidelines are expected to be finalized in about 18 months.
