ILSI SEA held its 7th Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Singapore. A full-day Scientific Planning Meeting with participation from ILSI Australasia, ILSI Thailand, and ILSI Japan was held on April 28. The meeting focused on regional collaboration of activities in Southeast Asia and Australasia, as well as in the Asia Pacific region to better address issues of concern while reducing cost and maximizing available resources. A scientific presentation session held in conjunction with the AGM, provided a historical overview of the branch's scientific program and highlighted areas of special focus since its establishment in 1993. A brief look at future programs was offered. At this session, three key scientists from the region shared their expertise on food-related allergies, free radicals and antioxidants, and promotion of physical activity for specific target populations.
